I-90 - Snoqualmie Pass East - Cabin Creek Interchange to West Easton Interchange (Phase 3) | WSDOT

Phase 3 is part of a 15-mile corridor improvement project to improve safety and reliability and reduce congestion along I-90 from Hyak to the Easton vicinity. We will increase traffic capacity and improve safety by adding a new lane in each direction, replacing concrete pavement, stabilizing rock slopes, building wildlife crossings, improving sight distance and traffic safety and improving traffic management technology systems.

Visit our online open house for summer construction information. Construction is estimated to start in July 2022.

Delays due to intermittent single-lane weekday and weeknight closures followed by a traffic shift onto the new eastbound detour as crews widen I-90. Rock blasting closures are planned in August and September. The closures will happen Monday through Thursday, one hour before sunset and last approximately one hour. This project will shut down each winter.

Phases 3 and 4 of the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East project widens I-90 from four to six lanes, stabilizes rock slopes, builds bridges, adds truck-climbing lanes, straightens curves and connects wildlife habitats.

WSDOT will increase traffic safety by replacing concrete pavement, improving driver sight distance, improve shoulders and investing in new traffic management technology.

WSDOT will increase freight and mobility reliability on this vital transportation corridor by adding a new lane in both directions.

WSDOT partnered with state, federal and private groups to deliver a streamlined mitigation strategy to address water quality, aquatic life and wildlife goals in this unique Cascade Mountain area.

This project is scheduled to begin summer 2022 and be complete fall 2028.
